The Baobabs
When I was a child, my father obliged me to read “The little Prince” (“El Principito”) but I didn’t like it.
Last year he suggested me to read it again, and I loved it.
I’m not going to tell you what is the story about, but I recommend you read this book. It is wonderful and has lessons for life.
For my Art work I remembered this pleasant book. I connected it with my art theme and decided to investigate a thing that caught my attention. The famous baobabs, the giant trees.
Yesterday I was looking for some photographs, and the ones I found impressed me. I’ll try to upload some so you see them.
The baobab is an African tree with a stubborn shape, which’s flowers have the figure of a human hand (with fingers). It can achieve a height of 25 metres and the perimeter of its trunk can be superior to 40 metres. Some exemplars have 4.000 years.
It is also called “reverse tree” because its top branches (at summer) took like roots.
The Baobab can store up to 120.000 litres of water, what explains the importance of this giant in the deserted zones of Africa.
When I read all this data I would have probably fall off to the floor if I wasn’t sitting in the chair. It is amazing!!! And wait to see the photos!
They are incredible trees! I am fascinated!!!

'The Little Prince' is one of my all time favorite books! Almost every part of the story can be related to our life. I haven't read it for so long, maybe I should grab it again one of these days! I'm glad you enjoyed it too.
